Our favorite Campgrounds
Arkansas
Buffalo National River’s Premier RV Park
Our favorite part about this campground was the view. It was quiet and the first night it was us and one other RV.
Tucson, Arizona
Lazy Days KOA/Tucson
This place was packed with amenities. They had multiple swimming pools and hot tubs, a fitness room, basketball and pickleball courts, a huge dog park, a nature area, a peddle cart track, covered parking for your RV, fruit trees at virtually every campsite, and so much more.
Goodview, Virginia
Fables & Feathers Winery
Nestled in the mountains of western Virginia, this place was idyllic. As you can see from the photo, we were surrounded by mountains and greenery. The winery was quaint. They had a fine tasting room, but, more importantly, they had outside seating that let you drink you wine while overlooking the vineyards! They also had a pergola atop the hill where we were parked which provided a scenic spot for morning coffee or evening wine.
North East, Pennsylvania
South Shore Wine Company
Can you say charming? We pulled into a Harvest Host and were pleasantly surprised with the location and natural beauty. This winery has an historic stone cavern tasting room. Built in the 1860s in the style of traditional French wine caverns, the stone cellar is a unique and definitely worth the stop. (As a possible kicker, a lot of people claim to have had supernatural experiences while visiting! Ooooooooh! ) The wines were also pretty yummy.
Lake George, NY
Lake George RV Park
This is an award-winning campground and has been for over 50 years. It is jam packed with amenities, both the expected (pools, hot tubs, sports courts, and Mack’s favorite dog park) and unexpected (movie theaters, live theater playhouse). The location is great. The park is beautiful and very well maintained.
North Naples, FL
Crystal Lake RV Resort
This is definitely one of our favorite campsites and, to date, unlike anywhere else we have stayed. It is more a community than a campground with lovely grounds, friendly people, a ton of amenities, and a crazy active social calendar. All in all, we’d give this our highest recommendation!
Savannah, GA
Red Gate Farm RV Resort
What was once a 400+ acre dairy farm is now a combination event venue, equestrian center, and RV Resort. Located only 10 minutes from downtown Savannah, the campground is ideally located. It is a beautiful property that is heavily treed and features several small lakes making for lovely and peaceful morning walks. The amenities are limited (i.e., pool, laundry, camp store), but nice. As part of the onsite equestrian center, horseback rides are available. This is definitely one we’d be happy to return to.
Aiken, South Carolina
Stable View Equestrian
This was another great find on Harvest Hosts. Stable View is a 1,000+ acre world class equestrian facility with lovely grounds, beautiful horses, and a whole lot of peace and quiet!!
